Social commitment and regional charity initiatives are part of our daily business at Wall AG. Our strategic business objectives are always aligned with our social responsibility. Our many social, cultural, and charitable sponsoring projects prove that we take this responsibility serious. Wall AG is especially committed to supporting the non-profit association and registered society entitled Denk mal an Berlin e.V. that operates under the auspices of our Chairman of the Supervisory Board and company founder Hans Wall. It is a crucial element of our corporate strategy, and it helps us build a sustainable success. As a family-owned company, we are free to act on this principle of corporate social responsibility, because we do not need to sacrifice our engagement to short-term shareholder interests. Corporate social responsibility at Wall AG is a top-level domain. Sponsoring activities and individual projects are decided on by our board of directors.

A consistent corporate commitment includes responsible personnel management for our employees. They are the source of our success, because it is their excellent work that helps us fulfil and even exceed our customers' needs and expectations. That is why we invest strongly in the training, professional development, motivation, health, and security of all our employees.

At Wall AG, corporate social responsibility is an integral part of our corporate identity. Our management treats each employee as a representative and disseminator of our corporate culture. Employees who identify with their company are the best means of public relations and the greatest advertisement that company can have. They increase both the recognition and the popularity of their company.

Wall AG's social and cultural engagement has won the highest accolades. In 2000, Hans Wall was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon. This was followed by the "Soziale Marktwirtschaft" award of the Wirtschaftspolitischer Club Deutschland e.V. (German Econo-Political Club) and the Heinrich Stahl Award of the Jewish Congregation in Berlin. Under the leadership of the new Chairman of the Board, Daniel Wall, Wall AG received the award for "Corporate Social Responsibility" of the Deutscher Preis für Wirtschaftskommunikation (German Award for Economic Communications).

Deeply rooted in Berlin

  • Fountains in Berlin: Since 1999, Wall AG has financed the operation, maintenance, and cleaning service for 79 fountains in Berlin.
  • Renovation of the tower of Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtniskirche: As partner of the Stiftung Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtniskirche, Wall AG supports the renovation of this Berlin landmark both through financial contributions and by offering free advertising spaces for their fundraising campaign.
  • Christmas illumination on Berlin's Kurfürstendamm: Since 2004, Wall AG finances and implements the Christmas illumination on Berlin's Kurfürstendamm and Tauentzien boulevards.
  • Preservation of historical monuments: We have been supporting the association Denk mal an Berlin e.V. both financially and in terms of personnel since 2003. We thereby make a significant contribution to preserving historical monuments in Berlin. The project currently funded by “Denk mal an Berlin” is the reconstruction of the Parochial Church's steeple in the Berlin district of Mitte (2008-2012). In cooperation with Wall AG, the association has assumed responsibility for cleaning the monuments in Victoria Park in Kreuzberg (since 2003) and in the Public Park of Friedrichshain (Polish National Monument -- since 2004). By financially supporting and carrying out a youth project, “Denk mal an Berlin” has greatly increased awareness among young adults for preserving historical monuments. We have managed to get about 500 boys and girls of all ages interested in the subject since 2004.
  • Sponsoring education: Since 2005, Wall AG has funded the support project "rechenfix & wortgewandt" (quick wit with words and numbers). The project helps 40 third- to fifth-graders of the Jens Nydhal grammar school to overcome language barriers, develop their curiosity, and discover the fun of learning in their science classes. The students are also invited to regular visits at the Wall AG manufacturing plant in Velten.

Culture

  • Jewish culture and family centre (2007) / Szloma Albam House and Rohr Chabad Family Centre: Wall supports the largest privately funded culture and family centre in Germany through a substantial donation.
  • Grave of Ernst Th. A. Litfaß (2007): Wall AG funded the restoration of the historical grave of the inventor of the advertising pillar on Berlin's Dorotheenstädtischer Kirchhof. Wall AG also covers the ongoing upkeep costs.
  • Art project series "Mahnorte" (memorial places) by Ronnie Golz (since 1998): So far, Wall AG has sponsored five of the Israeli artist's projects, which aim to make the history and horrors of the Third Reich visible in Berlin's urban spaces. Bus stop shelters become memorials. Wall funds the creation, printing, and maintenance of information panels, and provides street furniture that serve as memorials.
  • Book burning memorial at Berlin's Bebelplatz: Since 2002, Wall AG funds the operating costs (electricity, etc.), cleaning and regular replacement of the glass panel.
