For Wall, social commitment and common good activities are lived realities. In pursuing our strategic company goals, we constantly keep in mind our responsibility towards society. Numerous social, cultural and urban sponsorship projects bear witness to the fact that we take over responsibility and that our commitment reaches beyond our business activities. Wall’s social commitment is a top-level issue: Decisions on sponsorship activities and the support of specific projects are taken directly by the executive board.

Wall AG’s social commitment has a special focus on two themes: the advancement of children and young people, and the promotion of cultural activities. Children and young people are the future of our society, of our urban, economic and political order. Therefore, we at Wall consider their advancement as the advancement of Germany's overall ability to cope with future challenges and of the country's capability for innovation.

It is a key issue of our commitment to improve the accessibility of education for children and young people. Furthermore, we are employing our network of customers and business partners to allow children and young people insights into political and especially cultural institutions as well as into companies from different industries, so they may discover perspectives for their future and learn more about their urban environment.

Our headquarters are situated in Berlin, at the heart of the German capital. Wall AG has committed itself to the preservation of the city's rich cultural landscape and thus supports numerous local cultural institutions like museums, theatres and opera houses as a sponsor.

As a supplier of street furniture, we aim at embellishing and conserving Berlin’s cityscape beyond the scope of our business assignments. Our charitable activities therefore include the sponsorship of the annual Christmas illumination on the famous Kurfuerstendamm as well as the operation, cleaning, maintenance and financing of at present 78 public fountains throughout Berlin.

Following our corporate motto "For Cities. For People", we are committed to a corporate culture which advances innovation, shared values, quality and flexibility – both towards our customers and inside our company.

Consistent corporate commitment also means a responsible human resources management. Our employees are the foundation of our success. Their excellent work contributes to meeting or even exceeding the demands of our customers. Thus, we consequently invest into the advancement of our employees – into their education, their professional qualification, their motivation and health as well as into workplace safety.

Here you will find selected sponsorship projects of Wall AG:

1. Advancement of education/advancement of children and young people
Since 2005, Wall AG finances the education promotion project "rechenfix & wortgewandt" (quick with numbers and clever with words) for about 60 pupils of the 3rd to 5th grade of Jens-Nydahl-Elementary School in Berlin-Kreuzberg. Pupils receive targeted support in reading, writing and arithmetic. The project aims at enabling more pupils – at present, 98 percent of children attending the school are from an immigrant background – to gain access to advanced secondary education. Besides financing teaching staff for the advancement program, Wall AG, in cooperation with the school's administration, organizes visits to numerous institutions throughout the city, drawing on its links to business partners and customers. Furthermore, Wall AG each year invites pupils to visit the company-owned production plant, introducing them to different professions and career paths, as well as to economic contexts in general.

2. Promotion of cultural activities
Wall AG sponsors various cultural institutions throughout Berlin, for example the Renaissance-Theatre, the Natural History Museum or the venue "Friedrichstadtpalast". We promote the cultural richness of the German capital to preserve the unique and internationally renowned character of Berlin as a cultural metropolis.

3. Commitment to the city /monuments preservation
Berlin public fountains: Since 1999, Wall AG finances the operation, maintenance and cleaning of 78 public fountains in Berlin.

Christmas illumination City-West: Since 2004, Wall AG creates and finances the festive Christmas illumination on Kurfuerstendamm and Tauentzien, lighting up the famous high-street and the surrounding area for almost six weeks each year.

Berlin-Mitte district office and Wall AG have recently agreed on a five-year extension of the contract for the maintenance of the Memorial for the book burning up to the end of 2016. Within the scope of the agreement, Wall AG takes over the costs for the maintenance and cleaning of the memorial including the ventilation system, power supply and the regular replacement of the pane.
